In another example of places where the construction industry is giving back, Big-D Construction recently teamed up with a student at Utah Valley University to complete a service project as part of ”Project Mobility,” a cause dedicated to helping financially limited and disabled people receive installed wheelchair ramps and lifts at their residences.

This particular ramp was installed in the home of a boy in Provo, Utah. The boy has muscular dystrophy, and within the last year lost his ability to walk. The previous ramp in his home was too narrow, poorly built and dangerous (no railing). He recently received a different wheelchair that was too wide for the ramp, forcing him to change wheelchairs every time he left the house. Big-D contributed all of the materials and labor for the new ramp, which is much safer and accommodating to his needs.
