Every week, Construction Informer is inundated with announcements of useful construction products. Whether you want help managing your projects, help managing your subs, want to start a new profitable product line, or have a few other needs, there’s probably at least one useful construction product here you just can’t live without.

Watch Your Equipment

The CYBERWATCH SAT provides equipment monitoring from anywhere in the world, without the need for a SIM card or local wireless plan – at less than $40 per month. An operator can wirelessly connect his/her smart phone to the device mounted on a piece of equipment. Once connected, the operator can send an email or text message from their smartphone through the SAT device to anywhere in the world – a potentially lifesaving feature.

Countless companies are faced with the real and often costly predicament of how to monitor and track the location of their equipment in remote jobsites. Solving this issue, Keytroller, a designer, manufacturer and supplier of electronic safety and weighing devices, has unveiled the CYBERWATCH SAT – a satellite wireless hour, alarm and location meter designed for remote locations.

Out to Change Things

Local startup founded in February of 2015 is launching its cloud-based project management software geared towards subcontractors in the construction industry. There is a free plan that potential customers can sign up for to test out the product before committing to a paid plan.

Besides offering conventional features needed by a construction company like change orders, request-for-information, and expense tracking among others, Edifica is solving the problem subcontractors have been facing for years, which is struggling to find an efficient way to track their employees’ time, especially when employees move from job site to job site.

Recognition for Claims Pros

The Institute of Construction Claims Practitioners (ICCP) is an international organisation providing recognition to those who have gained experience and qualifications in the claims sector of the construction industry.

The ICCP offers individual membership at Associate (AICCP), Member (MICCP) and Fellow (FICCP) levels based on qualifications and experience.

Corporate membership is available to companies that specialise, or who have departments that specialise, in construction claims and membership will be awarded on the basis of the services offered, expertise and company history.

Manage Your Subs

NoteVault, a leading provider of mobile reporting solutions launched a new program designed to increase transparency, while reducing administration costs of managing subcontractor reports on large, complicated building or engineering projects. The new program One Team. One Report. enables construction companies to invite subcontractors to contribute project documentation to any project within their account at no cost to either the contractor, or the subcontractor.
