BuildSite Mobile Takes a Bite Out of Product Specs on Paper

As more construction materials and products manufacturers make their specs available online, paper-based submittals are going the way of dinosaurs. Not only that, but when you need submittal information in the field, as you are standing in front of the opening that’s waiting for a storefront, you can quickly download the storefront specs right to your smart phone, grab its dimensions, and confidently supply them to the subcontractor who’s supposed to install the crash bar on the door. No more carrying and shuffling through dog-earned, coffee-stained, paper submittals that might have already been superseded by new specs. For specifying on-the-fly, architects, engineers and construction staff can view specifications of products right where they will be used.
